Upgrade Your Coffee Break

If you are a coffee lover taking a coffee break can be a great way of giving your mind a short rest during the day. Substitute coffee for something else if coffee is not your thing, herbal tea, fresh juice or smoothies are some great options.

Make it a Ritual

Make it a personal ritual. You should be totally present in the moment during the coffee making process: take in the aroma of your coffee, listen to the different sounds, if you are brewing the coffee focus on your breathing while you wait. Try to refrain from thinking about the day, work loads, to do lists – if you find your mind wondering, notice it then re-focus on the coffee making process.

Build the breaks into your daily routine

You can use this time as reward for completing tasks, just as a time out or you can set your coffee breaks at certain times in the day. This can be a good chance to have a break from screens or pause a task so you can refocus when you return.

Keeping your coffee consumption to the earlier part of the day is recommended.

Have fun with it

You can make your coffee making routine as simple or involved as you want, but remember to have fun with it!
